Louder and Louder
Ran across this interesting video about the kinds of things record companies encourage producers to do on albums to make the music stand out more. It’s gotten to the point where all music sounds like fancy white noise or very overblown. Neil Young has said that the digital age is really the dark ages of music and I’m starting to see what he means. Watch the video below for a very dramatic demonstration. To me, much of todays music sounds very overblown and lacks all subtlety – even the stuff that should sound like ballads and such.
