Classic stuff: choosing between Kirk & Picard, the soldering gun, and the outlet strip as a gift…amongst others.

Talk The Walk
I don’t usually watch the show Hardball With Chris Matthews, but maybe I need to start doing so. He decided to have someone on his show named Kevin James who has his own conservative radio show in Los Angeles.
Mr. James apparently doesn’t bother researching his references to historical figures and their accomplishments as the video below will show.

The Best of The Worst
It’s common knowledge that fast food is bad for you. We still eat it, but did you ever actually compare how bad the food is between different fast food joints? This person did and what an eye opener it was. All of the nutrition facts were researched between a variety of fast food places. He even made it so that the different nutrition items can be sorted so you can see who is the worst in that category. He doesn’t just stop at hamburgers either. He even has chicken, sandwiches, breakfast items, even breadsticks and slices of pizza. Some of the results will surprise you, some not. It all adds up to a Whopper of a good time!

Coolin’ Off
Well you know someone had to do it eventually. As this page shows, the air conditioner you use at home doesn’t have to stay at home. This is like one of those Tim “The Toolman” Taylor kind of projects. I bet his wife/girlfriend was just beaming with pride as they drove out for a night on the town with that on the roof!

Interactive Toiletry
This must be something only Germany would consider. It is a novel idea in a way: have people use to get a message about taking a taxi home instead of their car after drinking a bit. You figure that people will start drinking then visit the bathroom before they get to the point of being unable to drive. So, why not keep them interested long enough to get the message across? This page details how this really works. It even has working videos on someone using it and how it is made.

Thriller v2.0
Well, I grew up in the 80’s so I know what this is all about. I remember well the first time I saw the music video on MTV for the song “Thriller” by Michael Jackson from the album of the same name. I think it was tagged at the time as the most expensive music video ever made. Great song and everything about the video was motion picture quality. Apparently, as evidenced by the video below, even prisoners can appreciate what this is about. This version was performed by inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in the Philippines. So what’s next week - Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up”? They do a heck of a job but then again, if you had nothing better to do in prison, wouldn’t you?
Margaritas Turbo Style
Now that the weather is in summer mode, what better way to make some margaritas for a party than to use a machine that can generate large quantities. Read this article for how it works.

A Flash of Fire
You find examples all the time of great Flash animation on the web, but this one caught my eye recently. I like the song, I like what he did with the pictures, and I also like his encouragement in between the verses. A fitting tribute to a great songwriter who did visit Buffalo recently. A few people I’ve spoken to were quite surprised that he could sing all those high notes in his songs despite his age. As I always say, greatness is timeless!

Free Bracelets
I think the picture below says it all. For anyone who has ever caught someone shoplifting, you wish you had this sign in your place of business. Thanks to the Consumerist.com web site.
